My client is a leading New Zealand food and beverage business with a strong global presence. They're values-led, with a supportive finance team, and are a genuinely great place to work.


They're looking for an Accounts Receivable Lead to run the AR function within the wider shared services team, and lead a small team of two AR Administrators. You'll be the go-to person for accurate billing, strong credit control and timely collections, you'll play a big part in keeping cash flow healthy across the group, and enjoy down to earth collaborative management.


What you'll be doing


  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of AR Administrators
  • Overseeing invoicing, credit notes and coding, making sure everything matches contracts and pricing
  • Driving collections and managing credit control, including credit limits, risk and overdue accounts
  • Overseeing cash allocation, customer reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Being the escalation point for complex customer queries and disputes
  • Managing customer onboarding and master data, with strong controls in place
  • Preparing AR reporting, cash flow insights and trade credit insurance reporting
  • Supporting month-end and keeping everything audit-ready
  • Finding better ways to improve AR processes, systems and controls


This role is for an experienced AR Lead with excellent management skills, able to see the bigger picture and understand how every part of the finance within the business interacts.  You’ll be involved in process improvement and have a willingness to self start and learn, with good business acumen.  You will be someone who is curious and wants to know the business in it’s entirety to know how your function works in with the rest.


Your role will be relied on heavily from management, so being able to step into it with a strong base of experience in high volume AR is essential.  You will be, at the forefront, someone who can draw on experience pulling a team together, owning the function with accountability and positive change, and have the ability to work with data analytics and reporting.


What you'll bring


  • Solid accounts receivable or credit control experience in a busy, multi-entity environment
  • Experience leading, supervising or mentoring a team
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliations, cash application and month-end processes
  • Confidence handling tricky customer conversations and resolving disputes
  • Great attention to detail and a strong understanding of internal controls
  • Good Excel and reporting skills, and the ability to spot trends in the numbers
  • Trade credit insurance experience (a big plus)
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a collaborative, can-do attitude
