We’re on a mission to transform the way businesses pay each other and help get cash flowing through the economy faster. We help buyers and suppliers connect, collaborate and pay each other via a single integrated platform that automates invoice processing and payments.


About the Role


We are looking for a Software Engineer to own the development of new product features from conception to deployment. You will design and build new back end functionality and develop APIs for a complex multi-faceted payment system. You have a good understanding of application architecture and the ability to write clear, efficient and well-tested code.


On a typical day at Relay, you might be building elegant and functional APIs, initial versions of new products or polishing and refining existing features. You will be working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced startup environment so must be self-motivated and have the ability to proactively get the job done.


​What you’ll be doing


  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high-quality Java applications
  • Develop secure and performant REST APIs
  • Collaborate with the product development team to define new features and products
  • Investigate and resolve defects as required


Who we’re looking for


  • ​3+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Java or similar technologies
  • Recent experience developing enterprise applications
  • Has shipped and scaled applications on AWS or a similar platform
  • Excellent communication skills


​Nice to haves are:


  • Experience working in financial technology or payments
  • B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/ MS Degree
  • Experience with front-end technologies and a knack for user interface design
  • Knowledge of React is a big plus
  • Good working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline etc
