He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Parks & Community Facilities department is seeking 2x casual cleaners for the Whangateau Holiday Park team . As our busiest period is over the summer months, the hours available in these casual positions typically increase during peak season.


The Park is open 7 days a week including public and school holidays, we are especially busy throughout the summer months so having the ability to work flexible hours, weekends, public holidays, and additional shifts is required .

You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for guests, with flexibility to work across a range of shifts as operational needs require.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Cleaning cabins, units, and communal facilities
  • Ensuring a positive experience for our guests
  • Grounds and surrounds general maintenance
  • Assisting with all other duties as required

Given the nature of the environment, adaptability and flexibility are essential.


We operate 24/7 and are currently seeking support for over a 7 day roster period including weekends.

As we head into our peak summer season, there may be opportunities for additional hours. We appreciate team members who can adjust to changing needs and contribute positively to our dynamic environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, and customer focussed person to join our team. This is often a high-pressure role that without a doubt will keep you fit – you must be comfortable in a physically challenging role.


We will be looking for people who have:

  • Cleaning & general maintenance experience (or the ability to learn quickly on the job)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to commence work ASAP
  • Class 1 Full drivers’ licence to operate parks vehicles is desirable
