The Salvation Army Manukau Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practise and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive.


We are looking to appoint an experienced qualified and registered Social Worker, Counsellor, or Addictions Practitioner for our residential programme based in Manukau.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health.
  • Group facilitation
  • Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment.
  • Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures


Person Specification:


  • Degree in Addictions Counselling, Social Work, or Counselling
  • Registration with a relevant professional body
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good cross-cultural understanding.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction studies.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality

Hours of work: This is a permanent role of 40 hours per week.


The starting salary for this role will fall between $68,037.77 and $102,000 per annum. This role is covered by pay equity and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years of experience the preferred candidate brings to the role.
