Job Description

Exceed®, a leading name in window and door hardware maintenance, are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead their New Zealand operations. This is a unique opportunity to take the reins of a well-established franchise network and drive its next phase of growth and success.

About Exceed®

Exceed® is part of the Belron NZ family, which includes trusted brands like Smith&Smith® and Laser®. With a strong reputation for delivering outstanding service, Exceed® partners with independent franchise owners across New Zealand to provide top-tier window and door hardware maintenance solutions. At the heart of everything they do is their purpose: Making a Memorable Difference with Care.

The Role

As Exceed General Manager, you will report to the Managing Director – Belron NZ, and will be responsible for the overall performance, growth, and strategic direction of the Exceed® business in New Zealand. You’ll lead a small team while working closely with franchise owners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

This role requires someone who can balance commercial acumen with people-focused leadership—someone who can inspire trust, coach franchise owners to grow their businesses, and ensure the integrity of the franchise model is upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a clear strategy to grow the Exceed® business across New Zealand.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with franchise owners, supporting them in improving performance and growing their businesses.
  • Strengthen the value proposition for franchise owners within the Exceed® network.
  • Maintain high standards across the franchise system and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities that drive revenue and profitability for both Exceed® and its franchise owners.
  • Foster strong supplier partnerships that create value for both Exceed® and its franchise owners.
  • Lead and develop the Exceed® team while cultivating a values-driven culture aligned with Belron’s principles.

What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be an experienced leader who understands the challenges faced by small-to-medium enterprise (SME) owners. You’ll have a proven ability to influence, coach, challenge constructively, and hold others accountable—all while maintaining strong relationships built on trust and mutual respect.

Key Attributes & Experience:

  • Experience in New Zealand’s franchise sector, ideally working directly with franchise owners.
  • A deep understanding of SME business dynamics and challenges.
  • Proven track record of P&L responsibility with strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong coaching skills to help franchise owners identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Highly collaborative approach; able to deliver results through people you don’t directly manage.
  • Pragmatic problem-solver with a focus on execution and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Familiarity with interpreting franchise agreements and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout New Zealand as part of this national role.

Why Join Exceed®?

This is your chance to lead one of New Zealand’s most respected franchise networks into its next chapter of growth and innovation. As part of Belron NZ’s Senior Leadership Team, you’ll have access to world-class resources while enjoying the autonomy to shape the future of this thriving brand.

You’ll also have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—not just on the success of individual franchise owners but on the strength of the entire Exceed® network.
