My client is one of New Zealand's leading beverage exporters, sharing the best of New Zealand with the world. This is a thriving finance team of collaborative individuals who are big picture thinkers.  This is a newly created role with a dotted line to a very senior manager, allowing the right person extensive growth and development.  This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone ideally with a start in Big 4, keen to look at a move to commercial.


It's a varied, hands-on role working closely with the key finance managers in the business, all being seriously good people creating meaningful workflow, process improvement, quality reporting and a great culture to work in.


What you'll be doing


  • Supporting month-end and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and intercompany
  • Helping prepare the annual financial statements and supporting the external audit
  • Preparing tax workings for income tax, GST and FBT, plus tax reconciliations, provisions and deferred tax
  • Supporting tax reviews and information requests
  • Strengthening internal controls, governance and compliance across the Group
  • Finding smarter ways to streamline reporting and improve processes


What you'll bring


  • CA qualified or working towards it
  • Solid financial accounting experience, either in-house or from a chartered accounting or audit firm
  • Strong knowledge of NZ IFRS and month-end and year-end processes
  • Exposure to tax compliance, including GST, FBT and income tax
  • Great attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • An improvement mindset, and the confidence to suggest a better way
  • A collaborative team player who lives by doing the right thing
