About the Role


Grand Millennium Auckland has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on role suits someone practical, reliable, and motivated to keep the hotel looking its best.


A key focus of this role will be painting and cosmetic upkeep across guest rooms and public areas , ensuring our hotel maintains a high standard of presentation at all times. Alongside painting work, you’ll assist with general repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to guest requests.


Key Responsibilities


  • Carrying out painting, touch-ups, and cosmetic repairs across guest rooms, corridors, and public areas
  • Completing general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, adjustments, and preventative maintenance
  • Responding promptly to guest maintenance requests in a professional and efficient manner
  • Assisting with routine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they impact guests
  • Supporting the Maintenance team with basic repairs across plumbing, joinery, fixtures, and fittings
  • Maintaining hotel grounds and back-of-house areas to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with hotel health and safety standards


Skills & Experience:


We’re looking for someone with previous maintenance or handyman experience , ideally in a hotel, facilities, or commercial property environment. Experience with painting and finishing work will be highly valued in this role.


You’ll also bring:


  • Experience with painting, patching, and general cosmetic maintenance
  • A practical and problem-solving mindset
  • Good communication skills and a guest-focused attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work early shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required
  • Physical fitness and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
