Job Description

A highly regarded New Zealand organisation is seeking an experienced Business Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in strengthening risk management, internal audit, and business assurance practices across a complex, purpose-driven environment.


Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide independent assurance and trusted risk advice while helping the organisation achieve its strategic objectives. This is a highly visible role, partnering with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities for improvement, enhance risk maturity, and support effective decision-making.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Delivering internal audit and assurance activities across a diverse operational landscape.
  • Providing risk advisory services and contributing to the ongoing development of risk management frameworks and practices.
  • Building trusted relationships with senior leaders and influencing key business decisions on risk and assurance matters.
  • Presenting insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen organisational performance and controls.


To be successful, you will bring experience in internal audit, risk management, or assurance, either from a professional services environment or an in-house function. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex risk concepts into practical business outcomes.


Ideally, you will possess:


  • Experience in internal audit, risk management, governance, or assurance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while partnering effectively across diverse teams.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CA, CIA, or equivalent.
  • A naturally inquisitive mindset and passion for driving better business outcomes.
