In the heart of Victoria Street, The Mayfair Christchurch blends refined style with warm, genuine hospitality. At The Majestic Café, we create memorable moments from the very first coffee of the day, serving guests and locals in a busy, stylish café environment.


We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our Food and Beverage team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves coffee, enjoys a fast-paced service environment, and takes pride in delivering friendly, polished customer service.


About the role


As our Barista, you will be at the centre of The Majestic Café experience, preparing quality coffee and other beverages while helping create a welcoming and efficient café service.


You will be responsible for:


  • Preparing and serving coffee, including flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes, long blacks and other popular coffee styles
  • Preparing teas, hot chocolates, chai lattes, frappes and other drinks
  • Taking orders, using the POS system and processing payments accurately
  • Keeping the coffee station clean, organised and well stocked
  • Working confidently and quickly during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency
  • Providing warm, professional and attentive customer service
  • Assisting with food and beverage service tasks as needed
  • Supporting the wider team with clearing tables, delivering drinks and maintaining café presentation
  • Following food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and hotel procedures
  • Upselling and making thoughtful recommendations to guests where appropriate


About you


You will bring previous barista experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused when service is busy.
