Graphic Designer & Receptionist - Johnsonville Corps

  • The Salvation Army, Johnsonville Corps is looking for a versatile individual to serve as the face, voice and visual co-ordinator of our church and community.
  • Use your outstanding design skills to create compelling media that shares our mission community wide.
  • The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team as we serve our community.
  • The successful applicant will use their excellent customer service and administration skills to provide a warm welcome to visitors to our site, and to support them to engage with our team who work to provide help to those who need it.
  • There is a food bank component to the role

About the role:

The role involves assisting the Corps Officers in all matters pertaining to office administration, graphic design services and receptionist duties in a manner that effectively enhances, and is in line with the Corps purpose and The Salvation Army Territorial Mission and Goals.

What will your responsibilities be:

  • Designing and producing professional quality promotions and advertising material
  • Website and social media management including uploading and editing of sermons and events
  • Design, maintenance and updating of digital sign and TV advertising
  • Provide secretarial, administrative and word processing services
  • Preparation of meeting leads, videos, audio files and sermon slides etc for Sunday Services
  • To provide a first impression for our site that reflects who we are and what we aim to achieve.
  • The role includes working with members of the public seeking help, ensuring visitors to the site are welcomed and can access what they need.
  • The role also includes administration functions for Johnsonville Corps such as room bookings, contracts, rosters and invoicing
  • Managing the food bank


Our ideal candidate will:

  • be fully skilled in verbal and written communication
  • have design and creative expertise
  • be an experienced user of computers including Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Databases, email, creative design software - Adobe Suite
  • be able to relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds and be sensitive to ethnic, cultural and social issues
  • have a commitment to learning and improving skills
  • have a high level of initiative
  • be fully supportive of the Salvation Army Johnsonville mission and values
  • be able to work alone and within a team
  • possess time and desk management skills to prioritise multiple tasks and keep track of work in progress to meet deadlines
  • have respect for privacy and confidentiality

This role is permanent and full-time at 37.5 hours per week

The starting salary for this role will be $64,350.00

The starting hourly rate for this role will be $33.00
