Job Description

Experienced sales leader who loves people, customers and growing a business? This is a rare chance to take the reins of two well established Tauranga flooring stores.

This local, family owned retail group has recently taken ownership of two flooring showrooms in Tauranga and Papamoa. The team is solid, the culture is great, and now they need a Sales Manager to lead the next chapter.

The Company

You will be joining a household name across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty, known for genuine relationships and a loyal local customer base. Alongside furniture, whiteware and home furnishings, they are a trusted name in flooring, supplying carpet, vinyl, laminate and timber to both residential and commercial clients.

Adding the Tauranga and Papamoa stores to the group is an exciting step, and this role is key to making it a success.

The Job

As Sales Manager you will oversee both showrooms, leading a team of 11 (9 in Tauranga and 2 in Papamoa) and working closely with 20 installers and the warehouse team. You will be responsible for store revenue, customer service and making sure every job is quoted right the first time.

This is a people focused leadership role with plenty of variety. You will coach and support the team, keep the showrooms looking sharp and get hands on with measures and quotes when needed. You will also look after key accounts and get out into the market to win new business, from homeowners through to builders, retirement villages and office spaces.

You will not be doing it alone. The GM Flooring and head office team are right behind you with plenty of support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the sales and showroom teams across two sites
  • Drive revenue and achieve sales targets
  • Ensure the team quotes accurately and consistently
  • Oversee the jobs being measured and quoted, at times supporting the team yourself
  • Oversee showroom presentation, standards and day to day operations
  • Manage key accounts and build strong relationships with builders and commercial clients
  • Prospect for new residential and light commercial business
  • Work alongside installers and the warehouse to deliver a great customer experience

The Right Person

  • Proven experience leading a sales team, ideally in flooring, interiors or building products
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence with targets, margins and quoting
  • A genuine people leader who builds trust and gets the best out of an established team
  • Confident building relationships and winning new business
  • Customer focused with high standards and great attention to detail

Flooring experience would be idea l. However, we are open to strong sales leaders from related industries who can pick up product knowledge quickly.

What’s on Offer

A competitive salary package plus incentives, a great team with a positive culture already in place, and the backing of a well established, family owned business.

This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact and grow two stores in one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
