Strong hands-on experience across Databricks, SQL and Python is important, with exposure to Snowflake highly regarded. You'll also help shape engineering standards, review technical designs and support the team's continued development.

We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable and commercially minded, with a natural ability to build relationships and manage expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Data and Analytics Engineers.
  • Overseeing the design and delivery of scalable data platforms, pipelines and lakehouse solutions.
  • Providing technical guidance and remaining hands-on where required.
  • Taking ownership of project delivery, including technical quality, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
  • Establishing engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing, data quality and documentation.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Supporting the growth and development of the engineering capability.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Workflows.
  • Advanced SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling and lakehouse solutions.
  • Well versed with Azure, AWS or GCP, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and testing. Snowflake or Fabric beneficial.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineers while remaining technically involved.
  • Proven experience overseeing projects, managing stakeholders and ensuring successful delivery.

Ideally, you'll bring 10+ years in data engineering or analytics, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
