OneStaff|Magnetic New Plymouth is a leading supplier of temporary and permanent staff to a range of industrial clients across the region.


Are you an experienced excavator operator who’s happy to get out of the machine and get stuck in with the crew?

We’re looking for a capable Excavator Operator / General Hand for a hands-on role in New Plymouth. We need someone with real operating experience, not simply someone who holds WTR endorsements.


Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am-4pm


Key Responsibilities:

  • Excavator operating
  • Driving Class 2 vehicles
  • Preparing areas for concrete
  • Levelling and tidy-up work
  • General hands-on site duties


What we are looking for:

  • Proven, practical excavator operating experience
  • WTR endorsements
  • Full Class 2 driver licence
  • Class 4 or 5 would be a bonus
  • A strong work ethic and safety-first attitude
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with the public
  • The willingness to pitch in and help wherever required


To work with OneStaff|Magnetic, you’ll need:

  • Strong & physically fit
  • ID required; Passport OR NZ Birth Certificate & Driver’s License
  • Pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol test
  • Must have reliable transport
  • CV, Relevant Certificates or License (i.e. WTR, Class 1-5)
