Buster Greens is looking for a full-time Baker to join our team!


About us:

We’re a bright, vibrant, modern eatery that prides itself on great coffee and wholesome, refined + flavourful food. We are a busy 7-day café situated in the heart of George Street, close to the university precinct and a short walk from the Octagon and Forsyth Barr Stadium. With tables split over two levels and outdoor dining, we seat over 60 guests at full capacity.


The role:

As our new baker, you'll play a vital role in managing our café's extensive range of house-made products. Your day will begin with preparing our daily baked goods, including scones, scrolls, brioches, danishes, croissants, salads, and flatbreads. You'll then transition to crafting slices, cakes, and savoury products like pies, quiches, and frittatas.


We’re also known for our raw slices, which cater to our customers with dietary restrictions by being gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. While experience in this area is desirable, we're happy to provide comprehensive training.


This is a permanent, full-time position working a 4-day work week: Sunday to Wednesday, 6am-2pm, with the following three days as rostered days off.


We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience with all aspects of baking

• Is creative and able to produce consistent products

• Can work well independently in your own section ensuring every item we serve is done to a high standard

• Is reliable, tidy and has a positive attitude with a warm personality

• Who is genuinely interested and passionate about hospitality
