Looking for something a little different from the usual construction role?


We’re recruiting for an established New Zealand company looking for an experienced Construction Site Lead / Installer to join their Auckland team.


This is a hands-on role combining practical construction work with site leadership. You’ll lead small crews, coordinate jobs, deal with clients onsite and work alongside the team to make sure everything is completed to a high standard.


Projects will take you throughout New Zealand and occasionally into the Pacific Islands, so this will suit someone who genuinely enjoys travelling with work and wants plenty of variety.


You don’t need experience in this particular industry. Full specialist training will be provided. What we’re looking for is someone with a strong construction or trade background who can lead people, organise a site and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.


What you'll be doing


  • Leading small crews across installation and construction projects
  • Working hands-on alongside the team
  • Planning and preparing for upcoming jobs
  • Managing day-to-day site operations, quality and timelines
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders
  • Training and supporting junior team members and labourers
  • Working across specialist timber installations, coatings and maintenance projects
  • Travelling throughout New Zealand and occasionally to the Pacific Islands


What we're looking for


  • Minimum 5 years' construction or trade experience
  • Experience leading workers or small site teams
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident organising and running jobs from start to finish
  • Comfortable dealing directly with clients onsite
  • High standards around quality and workmanship
  • Flexible and genuinely happy travelling regularly with work
  • Full NZ Class 2 driver licence
  • Confident driving manual vehicles
  • NZ citizen with a current NZ passport
  • Ability to pass police and site access checks
  • Keen to learn a specialist trade and develop long term
  • Carpenters, builders, roofers, flooring installers, painters, joiners and experienced construction supervisors are all encouraged to apply.
