He angitūtanga | The opportunity


As a Senior Chef de Partie , you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food while supporting the coordination of kitchen operations, Grab & Go production, and daily service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on culinary expertise with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced university environment. This is a Permanent positon with 40 hours guaranteed per week during education terms.


Ko o kawenga | Your responsibilities


  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards.
  • Support the Head Chef in coordinating kitchen personnel and managing daily service operations.
  • Plan and oversee Grab & Go production to ensure efficient and timely output.
  • Manage stock control, food storage, ordering support, and waste minimisation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, hygiene, and operational procedures at all times.


He kōrero mōu | About you


  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) with experience cooking in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and mentoring kitchen team members.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, stock control, portion control, and catering operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Reliable, hardworking, physically fit, and passionate about delivering quality food and service.
