Job Description

  • Use your Administration skills in a fun, friendly environment.
  • Support two wonderful communities.
  • Enjoy great work/ life balance, working part time – 25 hours/ week
  • Subsidised childcare for your tamariki.

Be the welcoming face of Little Wonders Oamaru! We're looking for an organised, friendly administrator to support our tamariki, whānau, and teaching team. If you're passionate about building positive relationships and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you. Join a centre where wonder, belonging, and community are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for a warm, organised, and professional Centre Administrator who will help bring this vision to life through exceptional administrative support and genuine connections with our learning community.

As the first point of contact for our centre, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for tamariki, whānau, visitors, and staff. This position is for 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and requires someone who is highly organised, approachable, and passionate about supporting early childhood education.

ECE in Aotearoa is a regulated industry and compliance is paramount - as an Administrator with Evolve you help to keep everything in order and ensure our Kaiako and Centre Leadership teams are well supported to do what they do best - ensuring incredible learning outcomes for Tamariki.

We strive to offer a home away from home, embrace diversity, warmly welcome family and are passionate about making a difference in the learning journey of every child and their whanau that we feel privileged to be a part of. Be part of our community-focused team and embark on an exciting journey of discovery and growth for every child. Join us in creating a positive impact!

We prioritise the well-being of children, whānau, and our teaching staff by offering outstanding facilities, quality educational programs, and a supportive atmosphere.

Typical areas of focus for your day-to-day would include:

  • Welcome and support whānau, tamariki, visitors, and community members.
  • Manage enrolments, attendance records, and child documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Support accounts administration, invoicing, and fee processing.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and general enquiries.
  • Assist the Centre Manager with administrative tasks and reporting.
  • Coordinate centre communications, newsletters, and family notices.
  • Maintain digital and paper filing systems.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre.

You will be someone who:

  • Builds positive and respectful relationships with others.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and administrative software.
  • Has a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to a team culture.
  • Values diversity, inclusion, and meaningful partnerships with whānau.
  • Has previous administration experience (early childhood experience is advantageous but not essential).

Our offer to you:

At Little Wonders Oamaru, we value whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, ako, and kotahitanga. We are committed to creating a workplace where every person feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow. You will become part of a caring team that celebrates curiosity, lifelong learning, sustainability, and strong community connections.

If you are passionate about supporting tamariki, whānau, and educators through exceptional administration and customer service, we would love to hear from you!
