Job Description

Civil Plant Operator


We are seeking experienced and reliable Civil Plant Operators to join our team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery across civil construction projects while working closely with site supervisors and crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.


Safely operate a range of civil construction machinery, including:


Key Responsibilities


  • Safely operate a range of civil construction machinery, including:
  • Excavators/Diggers (1.5T - 35T)
  • Bulldozers
  • Dump Trucks / Moxy Trucks
  • Rollers
  • Compactors
  • Other civil plant as required
  • Carry out pre-start checks and basic machine maintenance.
  • Complete excavation, trenching, backfilling, cut and fill operations.
  • Assist with bulk earthworks, roading, and site preparation works.
  • Follow site plans and directions from supervisors.
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Report faults, hazards, and maintenance issues promptly.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve project objectives.


What We're Looking For


  • Proven experience operating civil construction machinery.
  • Current WTR endorsements preferred.
  • Relevant Class licence advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction and earthmoving operations.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work well within a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.


Physical Requirements


This is not a machine-only role. Operators must be willing to get out of the cab and assist with:


  • General labouring duties
  • Ground crew activities
  • Spotting and trench support
  • Site clean-up and preparation
  • Any other tasks required to support the project team
