This is an Auckland based hybrid role with three days in the office – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to) and they told us the following about the role:

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We are looking for someone who Create and optimise detection rules in SIEM/EDR platforms, perform threat modelling to identify potential attack vectors, develop and fine-tune correlation rules and automation playbooks, Ensure seamless integration of logs with SIEM and SOAR. Ability to Develop, refine, and maintain SIEM and SOAR tooling, including process, workflows, alerts, dashboards, and reports.

What is the team culture and environment like?

We are a supportive and highly motivated team with a wide range of skills and experience. We love creative thinkers and problem solvers, and we like sharing what we've done within and outside the team.

What is your management style?

My management style is people-focused and outcomes-driven. I like to give my team a clear sense of direction, and then trust them to get on with it – while always bring available to support, coach or jump on if needed. I am big on open-communication and creating a space where people feel comfortable asking questions or challenging ideas.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

BNZ is investing heavily in cyber protection. This team is an amazing place to be if you like being on the cutting edge of cyber security; learning new skills and getting involved in new capabilities and technologies.
