Job Description

We are seeking an experienced social worker to support young parents in an education setting.


About the role


This role provides social work support as part of the Titiro Whakamua Teen Parent Programme. The programme is a satellite of Heretaunga College and provides secondary schooling for teenagers who are pregnant or already parents.


This permanent part-time role is 20 hours per week during the school term and is based in the Hutt Valley.


To excel, you'll need:


  • Proven experience working with tamariki, rangatahi and whānau
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with rangatahi, whānau, and stakeholders.
  • A recognised social work qualification and SWRB registration.
  • The ability to work autonomously and have excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills; strong computer literacy and reporting skills
  • Flexibility and resilience to meet the needs of the role
  • A full NZ Drivers Licence
