Job Description

Tradestaff Hawke's Bay is looking for an experienced Class 2 Driver to join a hardworking crew in Pandora, Napier!

This is a hands-on role combining driving, heavy labouring, and water infrastructure maintenance.

Location: Pandora, Napier

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, paid weekly

About the Role


You'll be working with a well-established client maintaining and repairing essential water infrastructure throughout the local network.

This is a physically demanding role where you'll be involved in water reticulation, pipe installations, repairs, and general labouring.


No two days will be the same, and you'll be part of a team helping keep vital water services running safely and efficiently.


  • What You'll Be DoingOperating Class 2 vehicles and assisting with daily site operations.
  • Carrying out heavy labouring and hands-on work across water infrastructure projects.
  • Repairing and maintaining water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, and fittings.
  • Assisting with residential and commercial water connections.
  • Installing pipes, hydrants, valves, and associated water reticulation equipment.
  • Supporting pressure testing, sterilisation, and maintenance of water mains.
  • Responding to faults and assisting with planned and reactive maintenance.
  • What We're Looking ForFull NZ Class 2 driver's licence.
  • Ideally 2–3 years' experience in water reticulation or similar infrastructure work.
  • Physically fit and healthy, with the ability to carry out heavy labouring.
  • Experience with three waters maintenance, PE pipework, or pipe welding is an advantage.
  • Level 3 or 4 Water qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A reliable attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety.
