We have a new and exciting opportunity to join our DX team as a Permanent Full-time Postie/Mail Sorter - Palmerston North


This is a Monday to Friday position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, offering variety across both our delivery and mail processing operations. The primary focus of the role is working as a Postie delivering mail throughout the Manawatū region, with additional Mail Sorting responsibilities to provide cover for our night shift team during planned leave periods.


Here's what you'll do…

As a Postie, you will be the face of DX Mail, delivering mail and providing outstanding customer service across Palmerston North and the wider Manawatū area. Building positive relationships with customers and representing the business professionally will be an important part of your day-to-day role.


Your typical day will begin at our depot, preparing and sorting mail ready for delivery before heading out on your designated delivery run. You'll operate a company motorcycle and work independently to ensure mail is delivered safely, accurately and on time.


In addition to delivery duties, you will also be trained to support our Mail Sorting team. These duties will primarily be required to cover annual leave and other planned absences within our night shift operation. Mail sorting shifts are typically worked between 6:00pm and 11:00pm and involve:


  • Sorting inbound and outbound mail accurately and efficiently
  • Preparing mail for delivery and transport
  • Operating sorting equipment safely
  • Maintaining quality and accuracy standards
  • Supporting the wider operations team to meet service delivery targets

This role offers excellent variety and the opportunity to develop skills across multiple areas of the business.


What we're looking for…

  • You must have a clean class 6 motorcycle license - Learner, Restricted, or Full
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical fitness and the ability to be active throughout the day
  • Reliability, flexibility and a strong work ethic
  • A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
