Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Hammerhand to join a busy construction team in Central City, Christchurch. If you’re confident on the tools and ready to put your practical building skills to work, we want to hear from you.


Location: Central City, Christchurch

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $28–$32 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You'll Be DoingAssist qualified carpenters with day-to-day construction tasks
  • Carry out framing, formwork, cladding, and fit-out work
  • Measure, cut, and prepare building materials accurately
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Complete site preparation and material handling as required
  • Work alongside other trades to keep projects progressing
  • Maintain safe, organised, and tidy work areas
  • What We're Looking ForPrevious Hammerhand or hands-on construction experience
  • Practical understanding of building methods and construction processes
  • Confident using a range of hand and power tools
  • Able to follow plans, measurements, and instructions accurately
  • Full NZ driver licence and reliable transport
  • Site Safe preferred or willingness to obtain it
  • Physically fit, dependable, and comfortable working as part of a crew
