He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


We are looking for five enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Assistants to join our team at Waitakere Hospital in Henderson. Hours will be offered on an as-and-when-required basis, with shifts rostered across seven days according to business needs. You will help deliver quality catering services to patients while maintaining high food safety, hygiene and customer service standards.


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


  • Provide warm, friendly and professional service to patients and customers
  • Assist with trayline service and deliver meals and special food requests
  • Prepare, portion and present food according to site requirements
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, crockery and kitchen equipment
  • Maintain clean, hygienic and tidy kitchen, dining and service areas
  • Follow food safety, infection control, health and safety procedures


He kōrero mōu / About you:


  • Previous experience in a kitchen, food service or similar role
  • A food safety certificate, such as Unit Standard 167, or willingness to obtain one
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • A hardworking, reliable and flexible approach
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
  • Physical fitness and willingness to complete required pre-employment checks
