Stringfellow Contracts Ltd is a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor located in Palmerston North.


Stringfellows is well known for high quality infrastructure work involving earthmoving, roading, drainage and retaining structures.


We currently have a full-time position available for a dump truck operator.


This position is open to applicants with no prior experience but would like to upskill into operating equipment, however experience is preferred.


Mentoring and a training programme would be provided by Stringfellows, with the successful applicant completing national trade certificates as part of their training if they wished. Applicants without any prior experience will also gain a Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement as part of their training.


In particular, we are looking for someone who has:


  • The ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Physical fitness
  • A willingness to learn
  • Enjoys solving problems
  • Prior experience in civil construction would be beneficial but not essential
