About the Role


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Assistant Care Manager to join our clinical leadership team at our beautiful Parkside Village in Auckland. This vibrant and brand-new care home has 59 Care suites and 12 Memory Care units.


Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will play a key role in leading and supporting a team of dedicated Registered Nurses and Caregivers, ensuring exceptional care and clinical outcomes for our residents.


This is a rewarding position that combines hands-on clinical practice with leadership responsibilities . You will work as part of the RN roster for 2 days each week, with the remaining 3 days focused on clinical leadership, compliance, quality initiatives and supporting the day-to-day management of the care team .


Standard days of work are Sunday to Thursday , therefore availability to work every Sunday is essential.


Key Responsibilities


In this role, you will:


  • Provide clinical supervision and coaching to the team.
  • Partner with the Nurse Manager to maintain high standards of clinical care and service delivery.
  • Lead internal audits, monitor compliance requirements, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative culture by being visible, approachable, and leading by example.
  • Support the effective management and resolution of resident and family concerns and complaints.
  • Participate in the Clinical On-Call roster and provide leadership cover during periods of Nurse Manager leave.
  • Champion best practice clinical standards and promote a culture of excellence, safety, and resident-centred care.


About You


To be successful in this role, you will bring:


  • Previous aged care experience, ideally with leadership or advanced clinical practice exposure.
  • A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • A current First Aid and InterRAI certification.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A collaborative, supportive approach, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional care to older people.
