PERSOL is seeking a skilled and motivated Customs Broker (PIN Accredited) to join our client's team based in Māngere. This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your industry knowledge, develop your skills and potentially secure ongoing employment.


What you'll be doing


As a Customs Broker, you'll play a key role in ensuring shipments are cleared efficiently, accurately and in accordance with customs requirements.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Preparing and processing customs documentation for import and export consignments.
  • Calculating applicable GST, duties and tariffs and ensuring all requirements are completed accurately.
  • Reviewing invoices, transaction records and shipping documents to ensure compliance with customs clearance requirements.
  • Coordinating customs clearances in line with flight schedules and operational deadlines.
  • Providing professional customs brokerage support to customers, internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email and internal systems.
  • Identifying and resolving clearance issues promptly and effectively.


What we're looking for


To be successful in this role, you'll need:


  • PIN accreditation for Customs Broker work - essential.
  • A sound understanding of customs clearance procedures and import/export documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A customer-focused approach and confidence when dealing with a range of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.
