Auto Electrician


Tradestaff is looking for a qualified Auto Electrician in Christchurch to carry out automotive electrical diagnostics, repairs and installations. If you're skilled at fault-finding, confident with modern vehicle electrical systems and take pride in quality workmanship, we want to hear from you!


Location: Christchurch, Canterbury

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $35–$42 per hour + weekly pay


What You'll Be Doing


  • Diagnose and repair automotive electrical faults
  • Test and repair wiring, circuits and electrical systems
  • Service and repair batteries, alternators and starter motors
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
  • Install and repair electrical components and accessories
  • Carry out electrical inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety


What We're Looking For


  • NZ Auto Electrical qualification or equivalent overseas qualification
  • Proven experience working with automotive electrical systems
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Confidence using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently
