Registered Nurse - Chalmers Home

Mō mātou - About Us:

When you join Presbyterian Support Central (PSC), you’re becoming part of something truly special, a not-for-profit organisation that’s been helping people for more than 115 years.

Everything we do is about supporting people at the most vulnerable times of their lives, whether that’s an older person needing care and connection, or a family working through tough times.

PSC has two well-known service brands that lie at the heart of our mahi:

  • Enliven: our positive ageing services that create age-friendly communities where older people have companionship, choice, fun, and purpose. Being part of our team means embracing a values-based approach and contributing to a not-for-profit service dedicated to supporting elders.
  • Family Works: our social services supporting children and whānau through counselling, social work, life-skills and parenting programmes and safety services.

Chalmers Home combines excellent clinical care with companionship and meaningful activity. Residents enjoy sea views, established gardens and an engaging calendar of events.

Together, we make a lasting difference.

Mō to tūranga - About the Role:

Chalmers Home provides Rest Home and Hospital Level of Care - this role is working 64 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster working AM, PM and Night shifts.

You will work as part of an Enliven team in a peer-supported environment, where everyone wants to deliver great quality care to our residents and ensure they have a positive experience whilst living in our Homes.  We provide weekend and nightshift allowances and overtime rates so you will be recognised and compensated for the flexibility you can bring with you as we appreciate every team member that can support our Homes to be a great place to live and work.

Mō koe - About You:

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect, and operate with a person-centred approach and high care standards.

Whether you are spending time with staff or residents, it's all about the way we communicate with each other and how we get the job done that counts towards making the difference to everyone's day.

We are looking for someone you can offer the following:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Preferably with 2 years’ RN experience, within aged care or with adults with complex health needs
  • Confidence leading and guiding a team of Health Care Assistants
  • Able to work independently if required (sole‑charge experience helpful)
  • InterRAI experience an advantage (training provided)

Above all we are looking for someone who actively works to support their colleagues and our residents when they come to work.  If you can role model best nursing practice and continuously strive for improvement, we want to hear from you!

Mo o tatau painga - About our benefits:

A job with Enliven is a career that supports and empowers thousands of people to live happy, healthy lives. We love people – and that includes our employees.  As a Registered Nurse you will benefit from the following:

  • Progressive pay scale - $33.19 to $48.98 per hour - plus allowances/penal rates.
