Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Metal Machinist to join our team in Otago. You should have a good command of English both written and verbal, and experience with operating and programming CNC machinery to manufacture precision metal components.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Selecting, installing, and adjusting cutting tools and machine settings
  • Producing precision metal parts to required tolerances and quality standards
  • Monitoring machine operations and making necessary adjustments
  • Inspecting finished products using measuring instruments and quality control equipment
  • Performing routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
  • Maintaining accurate production and quality records


To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Metal Machinist or similar performing the key responsibilities above
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and machining techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
