Job Description

Our client is growing and is looking for an energetic, fast-learning, customer-focused individual to become a key part of our team. This is a diverse role where you'll combine customer service, technical sales, inventory management, and business development while becoming the go-to expert on a respected range of industrial equipment products.


About the Role

Based in Palmerston North, you'll be responsible for managing customer enquiries from start to finish, ensuring a seamless experience from quotation through to delivery and follow-up.


Your day may include:

  • Responding to customer enquiries by phone, email, and in person
  • Preparing accurate quotations and converting them into orders
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Processing invoices and tracking deliveries
  • Following up with customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Conducting customer visits and building long-term relationships - including work travel, territory spans across NZ
  • Acting as the first point of contact for visitors and customers
  • Becoming the internal product expert across a range of industrial and engineering equipment
  • Managing inventory, stock receipts, stocktakes, and stock control


What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who has the motivation and confidence to grow with the business.

Ideally, you'll have experience in one or more of the following:

Pumps, valves, industrial automation, irrigation equipment, motors, and gearboxes.

However, we're also open to experienced sales professionals who have a genuine interest in technical products and are keen to learn.

Success in this role will come from your ability to build credibility with maintenance teams, engineers, operations personnel, and technical decision-makers.
