Job Description

BMAC Sheetmetal is an engineering and Sheetmetal fabrication business located in Invercargill. Bmac is seeking a capable, well-organised Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing, supplier coordination and stock control across their busy operation.


This is a practical role for someone who likes to stay involved. You’ll make sure the business has the right materials and equipment on hand, keep purchasing running smoothly, and help coordinate stock, deliveries and quality processes.


What you’ll be doing

  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Ordering materials, equipment, plant and staff workwear
  • Keeping stock at appropriate levels
  • Coordinating local collections, deliveries and pick-ups
  • Overseeing orders from purchase through to delivery
  • Keeping purchasing and inventory records accurate and up to date
  • Assisting with quality management systems
  • Supporting the management team with day-to-day operational needs
  • Addressing supply, stock and delivery issues promptly


What you’ll bring

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, stores or supply
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and supplier relationship skills
  • Confidence negotiating with suppliers
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work within established systems and processes
  • A practical approach and willingness to get stuck in
  • Confidence with computer-based purchasing and inventory systems
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • A forklift licence is beneficial, but training can be provided


This position would suit someone who enjoys having responsibility for procurement and stock while staying connected to the everyday operation of the business.


Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–4:30 pm; Friday, 7:00 am–2:00 pm (48 hours per week).
