About the role


Join drainage teams across Otago and Queenstown Lakes completing trenching, pipe installation, excavation support, and general civil works. Work with experienced supervisors on high‑profile regional developments.

Duties

  • Operate excavators, loaders & compactors
  • Lay pipe & work safely inside trench shields
  • Backfill trenches & assist with ground prep
  • Spot for operators & move equipment
  • Maintain tools & report technical issues

Skills & experience

  • Drainage or civil experience
  • Water reticulation qualification (preferable or working towards)
  • Class 2 licence preferred
  • W, T, R endorsements advantageous
  • Strong communication & safety mindset
  • Reliable, proactive and team‑focused
