You're a good baker. We think you could be a great leader.


We're looking for an experienced baker who's ready for the next step. Someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys improving processes and wants to take ownership of a production line and develop their leadership skills.


You don't need management experience - we'll help you build those skills if you've got the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Fresha Foods is a family-owned Christchurch food manufacturer. For over 13 years, we've produced premium donuts and handcrafted croquettes supplied throughout New Zealand through major foodservice distributors.


We're growing, investing in new equipment and developing new products. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.Our culture is built on taking ownership, speaking up with ideas, caring about product quality and supporting each other as a team.


About the role


You'll learn our donut production processes, take ownership of dough quality and help plan production around orders and stock. You'll also work alongside our Croquette Lead and progressively develop the skills to lead and train our donut production team.


Your development will follow a practical pathway:


  • Master the donut line: Learn our recipes, dough processes and quality standards.
  • Take ownership: Help manage dough quality, production planning, orders and stock.
  • Develop your leadership: Guide and train production team members.
  • Keep growing: Take on more responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.


Key responsibilities:


  • Produce approximately nine batches of donuts per production day.
  • Maintain consistent dough quality and finished product standards.
  • Assist with production planning, orders and stock management.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider production team and support continuous improvement.

What you'll bring:


  • At least four years' baking experience, ideally with yeasted doughs.
  • A sound understanding of dough and how ingredients and processes affect results.
  • Pride in producing consistent, high-quality products.
  • Initiative, problem-solving skills and a willingness to suggest improvements.
  • A calm, practical approach and the potential to lead others.
  • Strong food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Reliability, an early-start mindset and the physical fitness required for hands-on production work.


Previous leadership experience isn't essential. We're looking for someone with the skills, attitude and ambition to grow into the role.


Hours and benefits:


  • Pay: $28-$35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
  • Employment: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Monday-Thursday: 5:00 am-2:30 pm.
  • Friday: Four-hour shift.
  • Weekends: Every weekend off.
  • Development: Hands-on training and a genuine pathway into leadership.
