Retail Assistant – Immediate Start to Christmas

Lower Hutt | Monday–Friday | 9:00am–3:00pm

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Retail Assistant to join our clients family-run business in Lower Hutt from immediately through to Christmas.


This is our busy period, so we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, is confident dealing with customers, and isn’t afraid to get stuck in and help wherever needed.


About the role

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Serving and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Processing sales and handling cash/EFTPOS
  • Preparing and packing customer orders
  • Working in the warehouse when required
  • Picking, packing and despatching products
  • Keeping the retail and work areas tidy and organised
  • Helping the team during our busy Christmas period


About you

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience
  • Confidence dealing with customers face-to-face
  • Experience handling money and processing transactions
  • A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to work in both retail and warehouse environments
  • Good reliability and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Your own reliable transport to get to our Lower Hutt site
  • Good, verifiable work references
  • A clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) criminal record check
  • The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
