Join our ESS team as a Casual Food & Beverage Assistant at RNZAF Base Woodbourne.


In this role, you'll help deliver quality food and exceptional customer service to Defence personnel while being part of a friendly, supportive and safety-focused team.


This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours , with shifts offered as required to meet business needs. It's a great opportunity for someone looking for flexibility, who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering great service.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities


  • Assist with preparing, presenting and serving food and beverages
  • Provide warm, friendly and professional customer service
  • Maintain clean, tidy and welcoming dining, kitchen and public areas
  • Wash dishes, kitchen equipment, pots, pans and crockery
  • Replenish supplies and assist with stock rotation
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
  • Work as part of a team to deliver a positive customer experience

We're looking for someone who is reliable, positive, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team.


You will ideally have:


  • Previous hospitality, catering or customer service experience is an advantage, but not essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A reliable, hardworking and flexible approach to work
  • The ability to work well both independently and within a team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Good physical fitness to undertake the duties of the role
  • Availability to work across a rotating seven-day roster
  • The ability to successfully complete police vetting and pre-employment checks
