Job Description

Finance Administrator | Accounts Payable & Receivable

We’re looking for an experienced candidate to take ownership of key Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions within a fast moving recruitment business. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll support the financial operations of multiple companies and entities, working across invoicing, collections, reconciliations, PAYE filing and month end activity.

About Us

For over 26 years OneStaff has been connecting great people with great businesses across New Zealand. As a proudly New Zealand owned company, we're known for our strong relationships, exceptional service, and people first approach. We believe recruitment is about creating lasting partnerships that help businesses succeed and careers thrive. Join a supportive team that values collaboration, professionalism and making a real impact.

The Role

Working three full days per week, you’ll help ensure the finance function operates accurately, efficiently and responsively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Preparing and sending customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Following up outstanding accounts and managing collections professionally
  • Processing invoices, reconciling statements and preparing payment runs
  • Managing intercompany invoicing across multiple companies and entities
  • Preparing recurring and monthly invoices
  • Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Supporting PAYE filing requirements across multiple companies
  • Investigating and resolving customer, supplier and account discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate financial records across systems
  • Assisting with month end processes, reporting and account reconciliations
  • Supporting debtor and creditor reporting for the Finance Manager
  • Working closely with recruitment, payroll and operational teams to ensure billing information is complete and accurate
  • Supporting timesheet based invoicing and resolving related discrepancies
  • Assisting with finance projects, process improvements and systems related change
  • Providing broader finance and administration support as business needs arise

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a capable and dependable finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and keeping the details under control. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Proven experience across Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Strong invoicing, reconciliation and collections experience
  • Confidence following up overdue accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with internal teams
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confidence working to weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Strong Excel capability
  • A proactive, practical and solutions focused approach
  • Professional judgement and discretion when handling confidential financial information

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply process transactions in the background. You’ll become a trusted part of the finance function with direct access to the Finance Manager and visibility across a busy, people focused organisation. You’ll have:

  • 24 hours per week across three eight hour days
  • A fixed term position through to April 2027
  • Broad ownership across AP, AR, collections and reconciliations
  • Exposure to multiple companies and entities
  • The opportunity to contribute to finance and systems improvements
  • A varied workload within a fast moving recruitment environment
  • A central Christchurch office location

This role may suit an experienced finance professional returning to the workforce, transitioning from full time hours, balancing commitments outside work, or simply looking for a high quality part time opportunity. Please note that this is an office based role in central Christchurch, with attendance required three days per week.
