Job Description

Residential Carpenter

Tradestaff Dunedin is looking for a qualified Residential Carpenter to join a local residential construction team working across a varied mix of projects in Dunedin. This is a great opportunity for an experienced carpenter looking for varied residential work and a long-term opportunity.


Location: Dunedin Central, Dunedin

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $33–$36 per hour, with weekly pay


  • What you'll be doing:Working across residential new builds, renovations and alteration projects
  • Timber framing, including walls, floors, roof framing and structural components
  • Installing doors, windows, cladding and other exterior components
  • Completing interior finishing work, including skirting, architraves and hardware
  • Measuring, cutting and assembling materials accurately to plans and specifications
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans
  • Carrying out general residential carpentry across different stages of construction
  • Working independently and alongside builders, subcontractors and other trades
  • Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site safety
  • What we're looking for:New Zealand qualified carpenter
  • Proven residential carpentry experience
  • Good understanding of NZ building practices
  • Your own basic tools
  • Reliable transport and a full driver's licence preferred
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work well with other trades on site
