Located in one of Tauranga's major suburbs, our centre is a hidden gem tucked behind the local fire station. About the Role:


As a caregiver at BestStart, you will have the incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children, providing them with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. We believe in fostering a love for learning, creativity, and exploration in our tamariki. At BestStart, we value our caregivers and provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities. Reporting to our Centre Manager and working within a close-knit team you will be joining a dedicated team of Teachers who provide quality care and education to our tamariki.


We are looking for someone who:


  • Is loving and nurturing, attentive to the needs of our children, being at their level,
  • Understands learning stories and programme planning needs for the room and requirements for centre curriculum or be willing to learn how to complete these.
  • Is flexible with the team needs and management needs, enthusiasm each day, mindfulness of all that come into the centre.
  • Likes to have fun at work😊
  • Likes animals, we have guinea pigs!


This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday


Role requirements:


Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. An ECE qualification is not required for this role, but a natural affinity with children – especially infants and toddlers, and experience working with children under five is a must. You’ll also have a high level of initiative and an ability to take direction from others.
