Skilled General Labourers


Are you an experienced labourer who knows your way around a construction site, is confident with tools, and isn’t afraid of a hard day’s work? We’re looking for Skilled General Labourers to join reputable local teams across Dunedin. If you’re reliable, physically fit and ready to get stuck in, we want to hear from you.


Location: Dunedin Central, Dunedin

Start date: Immediate start available

Pay rate: $26–$30 per hour, depending on experience


About the role

This is varied, hands-on work for labourers with previous construction or work-site experience. You’ll be working across different sites and supporting local teams with a range of physical and practical tasks.


  • What you could be doingAssisting trades and confidently using hand and power tools
  • Digging, shovelling, spreading gravel and other ground work
  • Moving construction materials and completing general site clean-ups
  • Demolition, manual handling and heavy lifting
  • Furniture moving and other physically demanding work
  • Driving manual vehicles when required
  • Supporting construction teams with general site duties
  • What we’re looking forReliable and punctual – our clients depend on you turning up on time and ready to work
  • Previous construction or relevant work-site experience
  • Physically fit and capable of demanding, hands-on labouring
  • Confident and competent using hand and power tools
  • Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and ability to drive manual vehicles
  • Class 2 NZ Driver Licence is beneficial but not essential
  • Reliable transport and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Two recent work referees who can confirm your skills and work ethic
