Finance Manager

Reporting to the CEO, -lead a small finance team,financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow mgt + more.

• All rounder role overseeing 3 accounting staff & acting as interim manager
• Must be CA qualified + minimum 5 years exp in NZ in a similar role
• $90 -$100 p/h

The Opportunity

Immediately available our client is seeking an interim Finance Manager to commence within 2 weeks.

As the interim Finance Manager, you will lead the finance function and provide trusted commercial advice across the business. You will ensure robust financial management, deliver accurate reporting, support investment decisions, and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management activities
• Preparing monthly and annual management accounts
• Driving financial planning and performance analysis across the business
• Providing commercial insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions
• Managing banking relationships, funding arrangements, and financial compliance
• Overseeing audits, and statutory reporting requirements
• Supporting investment analysis, acquisitions, and growth initiatives
• Leading and mentoring finance team members where applicable

About You

You will be a capable and commercially astute finance professional who enjoys working closely with decision-makers and influencing business outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:

• CA ANZ qualification or equivalent
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Commercial Manager, Financial Controller, or Senior Accountant role
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting capability
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience providing commercial advice to senior leaders
• The ability to balance detail with a strategic perspective
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills

Experience within agribusiness, primary industries, investment, property, or asset-intensive businesses would be advantageous.
