Job Description

RB Recruitment is on the hunt for the next Team Leader for our client, Vortex Contracting. Beginning in 2021, they are an established South Island contracting business delivering hydro excavation, traffic management, CCTV and jetting services across multiple regions. We are looking for a Hydro pro who can lead the team to continued success as they gear up for a busy Spring!


This isn't a desk job - we're looking for someone with a Class 4 licence who can handle a hydro rig and step up to lead from the front, running the crew, working in live traffic, and getting stuck into flushing and jetting work when it's needed.


If you've got the drive, the initiative, the runs on the board and you're ready to take charge of a crew, this is your shot!


We are looking at an ASAP start but willing to wait a notice period for the right person. This is generally a Monday – Friday role based at the yard in Kaiapoi, with some occasional weekend work if a job requirement comes in.


ABOUT YOU:


  • Solid experience in Hydro Excavation (essential)
  • A Class 4 licence (essential)
  • Background in civil construction, infrastructure services, hydro, TTM or similar
  • No fear of working in live traffic
  • Ready to get into flushing/jetting duties as required
  • The drive and experience to lead a crew, not just follow instructions
  • Excellent communication
  • Understand and demonstrate that Health and Safety isn't optional, it's essential

Some occasional travel to the Dunedin branch may be required from time to time. Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand and be in-country at time of application.
