Hammerhand


Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Hammerhand to join a supportive crew working across a variety of projects in Invercargill. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid construction experience who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a safety-focused team.


Location: Invercargill Central, Invercargill

Start date: Immediate start or within the next couple of weeks

Pay rate: $29 per hour or more depending on experience – paid weekly


What you'll be doing


  • Assisting with general carpentry and building tasks alongside qualified tradespeople
  • Preparing formwork, boxing and shuttering for concrete
  • Assisting with foundations, including mixing and pouring concrete
  • Installing gib/drywall and flooring
  • Assisting with roofing, repairs and other general construction work
  • Working safely at heights and around plant and heavy machinery
  • Operating hand and power tools safely while keeping the worksite clean and tidy

What we're looking for


  • 2–3 years' Hammerhand or relevant construction experience
  • Site Safe is preferred
  • Full driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Confidence using a range of hand and power tools
  • Comfortable working at heights when required
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices
  • Being based in Invercargill and having your own tools would be advantageous
