About the role


Metlifecare's St. Andrew's Village in Cambridge is looking for an experienced Maintenance and Grounds Manager to help set the standard of service excellence. Working closely with the Village Manager, you’ll ensure our environment is safe, welcoming, and impeccably maintained — a place residents are proud to call home.


You’ll be the go‑to expert for all maintenance and grounds care while being on the tools.


This is a full time role working Monday to Friday - 40 hours week, however you also need to be flexible to cover 'On Call' outside of hours if required.


Our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Your customer‑focused, energetic, and solutions‑driven approach will ensure you build strong relationships with residents, their families, and our friendly team.


What you’ll be doing


  • Ensuring the village meets all Building Warrant of Fitness requirements and complies with health and safety standards
  • Coordinating and delivering day‑to‑day repairs, maintenance, and gardening across the village
  • Managing contractors and ensuring high‑quality work is delivered on time and within budget


About you


  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to customer service
  • Previous experience in a similar role involving maintenance planning, property renewal, or renovation projects
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • A practical, solutions‑focused mindset and the ability to think outside the box
  • Team leadership experience (advantageous but not essential)
