Te Wero – The Challenge

The Far North is already experiencing the realities of climate change, and the need for coordinated, community-led resilience has never been greater. Far North District Council’s Climate Action and Resilience team works alongside communities and tangata whenua to prepare for, adapt to, and reduce the impacts of a changing climate. We’re looking for a motivated, high performing administrator to strengthen this mahi and help ensure our district is ready for what lies ahead.


I ā koe - About You

We are looking for someone who brings:


  • Passion for achieving great outcomes for the community.
  • A high level of organisation and awareness.
  • An understanding of Tikanga, Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to balance conflicting priorities.
  • A progressive mindset focussed on continual improvement.


A skilled administrator able to provide general administrative support, including but not limited to organising meetings and workshops, preparing agendas and minute taking, raising purchase orders, monitoring, managing customer requests for service, preparing presentations, formatting and publishing reports.


An ability to build rapport and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people of different types and in different situations.

  • The salary for this position is Grade 10 within Council's salary structure (Band: $60,889 to $67,654 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
