Based at Police National Headquarters on Molesworth Street, Wellington, the Delivery Capability team is made up of experienced and passionate Programme and Project Managers, Coordinators, Business Analysts & Service Designers, and Change professionals. We partner with a wide range of business groups across Police, and externally, to successfully deliver strategic initiatives, organisational change, and complex programmes of work.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll help shape and deliver organisational change by translating complex business needs into practical solutions. You'll work collaboratively with Police teams and external stakeholders to define requirements, map processes, and drive improvements, while providing expert guidance and leadership across business analysis activities.


Nga kawenga matua | Key Accountabilities

  • Lead business analysis activities to support strategic transformation and change initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement to identify, analyse, and document business needs, requirements, and processes.
  • Develop high-quality business analysis artefacts, including requirements, process maps, business cases, and benefits realisation plans.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments, financial analysis, and contribute to investment, procurement, and business case development.
  • Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, including traceability, change control, and stakeholder sign-off.
  • Act as the key link between business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and delivery teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements.
  • Provide senior business analysis expertise, mentoring and quality assurance to support capability development across the team.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while driving continuous improvement in business analysis practices, tools, and methodologies.

  • A proficient level of business writing skills is essential.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement, and salary will commence between $111,529 and $129,277 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
