STRAWBERRY PICKERS WANTED – CAMBRIDGE


Kanes Strawberries is a small, family-owned strawberry farm in Cambridge, Waikato. We are looking for reliable, hardworking people to join our team for the strawberry season. Flexible start date.


THE JOB


  • Start: 6:30am
  • Approximately 6 hours of picking per day
  • 7 days a week, with 1 rostered day off
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Commitment required until the end of December / early January


This is hard, physical work involving lots of bending and repetitive movement. You need a strong back, good eyesight, good colour recognition and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.


WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE:


  • Reliable, honest and hardworking
  • Physically fit, no injuries and resilient
  • Fast learners who listen and follow instructions
  • Practical, diligent and positive
  • Able to commit to the full season
  • Comfortable working outdoors
  • Previous physical or practical work experience is preferred.


YOU MUST HAVE:


  • Your own reliable transport
  • Your own accommodation — no accommodation is provided
  • Good English communication skills
  • A valid visa/right to work in New Zealand


PAY


  • Starting wage: $23.50 per hour + 8% holiday pay
  • Good workers can earn performance bonuses of approximately $2–$5+ extra per hour.
  • An end-of-season bonus is also available.


Your first week is a paid trial and gives both you and us an opportunity to make sure the job is the right fit.
