Job Description

We're on the hunt for an experienced Class 4 Driver to get stuck into major civil construction projects across Wellington.

If you're confident handling heavy trucks, know your way around earthworks and infrastructure sites, and aren't afraid to jump out of the cab and get your hands dirty, we've got an opportunity for you! We're after a physically fit, agile operator who's just as comfortable on the tools as they are behind the wheel.


Location: Wellington CBD, Wellington

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $30.00–$36.00 per hour, paid weekly

  • What you'll be doingOperating Class 4 trucks on busy civil and infrastructure projects
  • Carting bulk aggregates, spoil, gravel and construction materials
  • Operating tipper trucks and safely tipping loads on active worksites
  • Assisting with trenching, digging, shovelling and general earthworks
  • Supporting drainage crews with pipe laying, backfilling and site preparation
  • Helping with compaction, spreading aggregate and ground preparation
  • Jumping out of the truck to assist with hands-on civil labouring as required
  • What we're looking forFull, clean Class 4 NZ driver's licence with proven heavy truck experience
  • Previous civil construction, earthworks or infrastructure experience preferred
  • Confident operating heavy trucks and tippers on active construction sites
  • Physically fit, agile and capable of demanding hands-on labouring
  • Willing to jump out of the cab and help with digging, shovelling and site work
  • Reliable transport and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Strong work ethic, excellent safety awareness and a team-first attitude
