Want to take ownership of quality residential landscaping projects?


Homescapes is an established residential landscape design and construction company, delivering high-quality outdoor spaces throughout Wellington and the Kapiti Coast for around 10 years.


We're a small, hands-on team, and with work picking up, we're looking for an experienced Landscaper who can confidently work unsupervised and take responsibility for projects on site.


This isn't just a labouring role. We're looking for someone who knows their trade, can problem-solve on site, and takes pride in delivering a quality finished product.


The role


You'll be involved in a wide variety of residential landscape construction, including:


  • Retaining walls
  • Decks and fences
  • Paving and concrete
  • Drainage and excavation
  • Earthworks and site preparation
  • Garden structures and outdoor living spaces
  • General landscape construction


You'll need to be comfortable reading plans, working through problems on site and getting the job done to a high standard without constant supervision.


You'll also work directly with the owner and other team members to keep projects moving and ensure clients receive a quality result.


We're looking for someone who:


  • Has solid experience in residential landscape construction
  • Can confidently work unsupervised
  • Has a strong understanding of landscaping construction methods
  • Takes pride in their workmanship and attention to detail
  • Is reliable, practical and able to problem-solve
  • Can communicate professionally with clients and suppliers
  • Holds a full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Is physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
  • Has digger experience - an advantage
  • Has stone masonry experience - an advantage


Experience is essential for this position. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running.


WE'RE ALSO LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED LABOURERS


As our workload increases, we're also looking for experienced landscaping or construction labourers to join the team and work alongside our landscaper on a range of residential projects.


You'll assist with general landscaping and construction duties, including site preparation, digging, drainage, retaining, fencing, decking, paving, concreting and operating power tools and equipment. We're looking for people who are reliable, physically fit, have a strong work ethic and take pride in doing a good job.
