About the Role


This newly elevated leadership position sits within the Commercial & Operations function and is responsible for leading the organisation’s technology strategy, digital transformation programme and operational technology environment.


Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Operations, you will lead a small but highly influential team while partnering with senior leaders across the business. You will be responsible for ensuring technology investments deliver measurable outcomes, supporting strategic objectives while maintaining secure, reliable and fit-for-purpose systems.


This role combines strategic leadership, transformation delivery, cyber security oversight and operational technology management, making it ideal for a technology leader who enjoys balancing long-term vision with hands-on execution.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Develop and deliver a technology strategy and roadmap aligned to organisational priorities
  • Lead technology-enabled transformation initiatives that improve services, workflows and user experience
  • Drive cyber security, privacy and technology risk management across the organisation
  • Oversee infrastructure, business applications, clinical systems and service delivery performance
  • Strengthen data governance, reporting capability and the responsible use of analytics, automation and AI
  • Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and technology investments

Skills & Experience


  • Proven experience leading technology functions within complex, multi-site organisations
  • Demonstrated success delivering technology strategy, transformation and organisational change initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure and modern cloud-based environments
  • Experience managing cyber security, privacy, information governance and technology risk
  • Skilled in business analysis, process improvement and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong vendor, contract, project and budget management experience
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams through periods of change
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and commitment to equitable outcomes
  • Experience within healthcare, aged care, community services, not-for-profit or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded
